Before the portrait, there’s a moment most people never see.
Someone walks in a little unsure. A little guarded.
And then, slowly, something settles.
We’re looking for the artist who knows how to guide that shift. Quietly. Intuitively. Before the camera ever comes out.
Vivek Narula Portrait is a high-end portrait studio specializing in Vanity Fair-style legacy portraits for women, men, couples, families and high school seniors.
We also create headshots and personal branding images for entrepreneurs and professionals who want to show up with clarity and confidence.
Our sessions are unhurried, intentional, and centered around creating a premier experience where clients feel comfortable, confident, and seen.
We’re currently inviting one or two experienced HMUAs to join our team for select portrait sessions.
What you’ll be doing
Hair and makeup for in-studio portrait sessions
Creating a calm, welcoming experience for every client
Working closely with a small, established team
What we’re looking for (please read carefully)
• You must do both hair AND makeup
• At least 8+ years of experience
• A strong portfolio (must include clean, polished and natural-to-elevated looks)
• Professional, kind, friendly, reliable and easy to work with
• You know how to read a person, not just a face
• Formal training or certification is required, but experience and a strong eye matter most
• Experience with portrait or studio work is a plus
Important
This is not high-volume work. There’s no rush. No conveyor belt.
Sessions are built around presence.
How you enter a room. How you respond to hesitation. How you help someone feel like themselves again.
That matters just as much as the final look.
